Aspie women, free love, intelligent women, men and women, serial monogamy, shotgun weddings

As one who grew up in the time of shotgun weddings, I was advised by a much-older acquaintance, “Don’t sleep with a woman you wouldn’t want to marry” and heard the old adage, “Don’t have sex with a woman worse off than you.” Prior to the sexual revolution of the late-1960s that popularized free love, permitted shacking up, and pretty much ended shotgun weddings, men were circumspect about having sex with physically attractive Aspie women who lacked social skills. A few hours of pleasure weren’t worth a lifetime of misery. As an old, unhappy sergeant once told me, “It only costs three dollars to get married but takes everything you make the rest of your life to stay married and it’s cheaper to stay married than to get divorced.” Easy divorce came soon after that but was too late for him. These societal changes worked together to benefit Aspie women by releasing allowing them the freedom to be active sexually without being coerced into unwanted marriages.

In many ways, the last half-century has been the best of times for Aspie women. Prettier and more youthful looking than the average woman in their age bracket, they easily attract men. In pre-AIDS days, they could readily enjoy one-night stands and hook-ups with men wanting the same. AIDS has taken promiscuity off the table for most Aspie women because, in addition to being attractive, they are highly intelligent and intelligent women don’t risk AIDS or other social diseases. Heterosexuals, men and women alike, now exercise more caution but still readily find commitment-free sex partners. Aspie women are perfect for men not desiring marriage and commitments: great sex on weekends, text messages in between, and phone sex when they’re horny and few discussions about “us.” It’s a win-win.

This is one of the rare times in which both men and women get what they want out of a relationship. Unless one of them gets serious. Then it’s time to move on. Serial monogamy is likely more prevalent among Aspie women than others because they tend to avoid the pressures of truly intimate relationships and easily find fault with demanding lovers. When that happens, they move on to the next guy. It will be interesting to see how golden aged Aspies compete with widows for the shrinking pool of men.

Are Redheads Sexier?

ginger, promiscuity, red-haired, Redhead, serial monogamy

I first became aware of my affinity for redheads when I was in the service. A guy who rode with me to a dance observed that I found redhaired women the most attractive after I mentioned an interest in a particularly (to me) attractive girl at the dance. He’d noticed a pattern in the girls I found attractive. I didn’t know this about myself even though my first real girlfriend was most definitely a redhead as was a girl I almost dated because she was fleetingly attracted to me my senior year of high school. So, it’s no wonder the protagonist I created wears her red hair proudly.

A quick search on Facebook for redheads shows that I’m far from alone in appreciating ginger beauty. Several sites and even organizations are devoted to people, with an emphasis on women, with any shade of that hair color. I even found links to scientific articles debunking or verifying several legends regarding redheads. One that readers may find especially enlightening. To summarize, Hamburg, Germany sex researcher Dr. Werner Habermehl looked at the sex lives of hundreds of German women and compared them with their hair color. He found, “The sex lives of women with red hair were clearly more active than those with other hair colour, with more partners and having sex more often than the average. The research shows that the fiery redhead certainly lives up to her reputation.” More partners and more often are easily quantified but rely on truthful and accurate responses from respondents. Not mentioned is whether the women’s body counts were higher due to promiscuity, poor choices of men, her fiery temperament, or failed relationships. The latter three could account for having higher numbers of sex partners in this time of serial monogamy.

Studies I’d like to see Dr. Habermehl conduct would be of Scottish, Irish, and American gingers. Women in cultures where red-haired women are less unusual might give different results than he found with German redheads.

Aspiegirl, freckle, free love, manuscript, Only Tim Sent Flowers, oral virtuosity, Scarlett O'Hara, seduce, serial monogamy, Susan Vance, virgin

My publisher informed me that the manuscript for Only Tim Sent Flowers finally popped up to the top of the editor’s to-do stack. This book is my first attempt at fiction, women’s or otherwise, which leaves me uncertain about how extensive her recommended changes will be. Tookie, my protagonist, is highly unusual, if not unique: undiagnosed Aspiegirl with girl next door exterior and Scarlett O’Hara interior. The editor’s comments may be my Christmas present. They will arrive embedded in my Word document. I will have to learn how to use the track changes feature because it is part of the publisher’s workflow and there will likely be two more rounds of editing on just this one book. I’ll have to get more than conversant with it because I’ve finished the first draft of the second book in the Tookie series and have written a few chapters for the third volume.

Follows is the synopsis for Only Tim Sent Flowers:

Only Tim Sent Flowers, a possible first volume for a Tookie series, is the 92,700-word story of an Aspie girl who fully embraces free love while raising herself from near poverty to a six-digit income with bumps and grinds along the way. My first women’s fiction book is lavishly blended with humor and explicit scenes, often combined for unexpected results.

Mary Louise, a bookish redhead nicknamed Tookie by her doting father, dispenses with Tim, her loving but far too serious and conventional first boyfriend, then thrusts herself groinfirst into the 1960s sexual revolution, pioneering concepts such as friends with benefits and serial monogamy while earning two college degrees in statistics. Tim gives Tookie, a freckle-faced 18-year-old virgin who doesn’t consider herself pretty, everything except what she wants most—sex and excitement. Tookie rejects Tim, whom she never completely forgets and who continues to love her, then engages in often humorous escapades with innumerable unsuitable lovers whom she seduces with her oral virtuosity.

Tookie, from whose POV ninety percent of Only Tim Sent Flowers is told, is a unique but captivating woman—girl next door exterior, Scarlett O’Hara interior, Susan Vance in the bedroom. Her story will likely resonate with female readers.
